Cynthia Martyn, Creative Director

Hello! I am so thrilled to have you visit my website - and to those of you that are engaged, congratulations! As a member of the wedding & event industry for 14 years, I have developed a reputation as one of one of Canada’s most respected wedding and event professionals.  Over 300 events later, I am still just as passionate and inspired by the industry as I was when I launched Cynthia Martyn Events in 2004.

Known for my romantic, elegant and sophisticated style, planning & designing an event is a partnership.  Together, we collaborate on your event.  Utilizing my professional expertise, creative inspiration and project management skills, the end result is both a beautifully designed event, and one that is executed seamlessly.  I want you to enjoy the process of planning your event, and to leave all the stress and worry to myself and the talented team of professionals that support me in bringing your vision to life.

I love hockey, but hate golf.  However,  I will happily chauffeur you around a golf course while you play 18 holes. I love golf carts!

I have a slight addiction to Diet Pepsi.  I don't drink coffee so it fulfills my daily dose of caffeine.

I won a fancy award for Best Event Planning in 2014 from The Canadian Wedding Industry Awards (thank you to my clients Melissa & Eric for allowing me to work on your gorgeous wedding!)

I hate shopping at malls, I pretty much buy everything I want online (except for groceries)!

After I graduated university, I worked on Canada's version of Wall Street (Bay Street) as a Stock Trader for 5 years.

I am totally obsessed with my 4 year old mini-goldendoodle Maggie.  I consider her my fur child.

I adore travelling - my favourite destination is Paris (I try to go at least once every year!) Dream destination - the Maldives!

The most weddings I have planned in a year is 28 - however, I now take on 10-14 select weddings per year plus social events.

ELLE Magazine once named me one of "Canada's Top Talents".
